THE LITTLE CLOISTER-SEAT OF THE PRINCES CZARTORYSKI MUSEUM
The most valuable collection in Poland, and one of the most valuable ones in Europe.
It is the famous for The Lady with an Ermine by Leonardo da Vinci but as well for the Landscape with the Good Samaritan by Rembrandt van Rijn, or many other masterpieces of painting, sculptures, military or crafts.
All of these treasures can be viewed in 26 exhibition halls, on two floors of the renovated Palace of the Princes Czartoryski Museum.
The Little Cloister is a part of the Museum , which in 1876, Prince Władysław Czartoryski purchased and renovated.
The renovation project, the result of which is the present architectural shape of the Monastery, is the work of Maurice August Gabriel Ouradou, a French architect and manager of conservation works, incl. at the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.
The interiors of the Monastery, in accordance with the prince’s will, were transformed into an exhibition space, where art objects belonging to the Czartoryski family were presented.
It is absolutely worth visiting!
