CHRISTMAS CRIBS IN KRAKOW’S CHURCHES
For a few years it has become my tradition to visit Christmas Cribs in Krakow’s churches.
Krakow’s churches are interesting from the historical and architectural point of view, but once a year , in January, each one of them becomes even more attractive for visitors and it is due to the Christmas Cribs.
Each church has different idea of how to create it ; some Christmas Cribs are very modest and consist only of the members of the Wholy Family, whereas some others are fulfilled with a great diversity of figurines of people and animals and there are also such where you may feel like entering to the city of Bethlehem.
Such an impressive Christmas Crib depicting Bethlehem is arranged in the Bernardine’s church. While admiring its detailed and colourful structure you may aslo hear different sounds of moving figurines. It is an absolute masterpiece and feast for the senses and soul.
Though my favourite Christmas Crib is the one in St Andrew Church, it’s small but lovely.
