JAN MICHALIK’S DEN
The most famous Restaurant and Art Café in Kraków, very well known for almost one hundred years!
Michalik’s Den – is the former Lwowska Confectionery of Apolinary Jan Michalik , established in 1895.
It used to be a place which brought together the crème de la crème of early 20th-century Kraków painters, singers, writers, poets, satirists, playwrights literary and theatre critics and a community activists.
It is also here where the literary cabaret “Little Green Balloon” began to exist and the spirit of “Young Poland” movement was born.
This is not only most famous restaurant and artistic cafe, but as well a kind of a museum of cabaret, Art Nouveau and Young Poland’s painting.
What you might expect right after stepping into this mysterious place is over 120 years of literary traditions, cabaret, famous pastries, confectionery and great dishes !
I would like to encourage you to try their traditional polish food , delicious cakes and traditional Polish alcohol beverages made on the base of honey.
This place is one and only, don’t miss it while visiting Kraków!
