KRAKOWSKI PARK
Park Krakowski is a 5.1 ha city park founded in 1885 and modelled after similar parks in Vienna.
Park Krakowski was originated by city councilor Stanisław Rehman and built on grounds leased from the Polish military. It was a very popular place for relax for Cracovians. After World War I, its size was unfortuntely reduced, and lost its previous scale and bounce.
The park originally contained an outdoor concert bowl amphitheatre and summer outdoor theater , a zoo, an ice skating rink and bicycle rink, a swimming pool and pond, a bowling alley a restaurant and seasonal outdoor cafés.
From the original 1885 design, the only remaining built features are landscape tower elements, and the ornamental pond with its fountain.
Park Krakowski has been a sculpture park since 1974. It has numerous abstract outdoor sculptures on display throughout the park grounds, created by Polish modern art sculptors.
In 2018 the park has been revilatlized and acquired its new costume with both nature areas and places for citizens of Krakow where they may play, walk or just sit on a bench with a book and enjoy the bird’s singing.
I do recommend it as a place for realx.
