HOUSE ” UNDER THE SPIDER”

“House under the Spider” is  located at Karmelicka street and was  built   in  1889 according to a design by Teodor Talowski as his own house.  Its name derives from the spider at the top of the facade.

The style of Talowski’s architecture is between secession and historical style; it’s a  mixture of gothic, renaissance and mannerism.

Talowski is called Krakow’s Gaudi  especially because of his  characteristic  and original architecture.

In Krakow he designed 5  more buildings at Retoryka Street called  :Festina Lente, Under the Singing Frog, Under the Donkey, which i will present to you in my next posts.
