100 YEARS OF POLISH INDEPENDENCE
A hundred years ago Poland regained independence. In 1918, World War I was over and our country after 123 years was free again!
Although Poland officially regained independence on 11 November 1918, Kraków was liberated almost two weeks earlier.
On 31 October 1918 Lieutenant Antoni Stawarz with his soldiers seized the Austrian barracks in Podgórze , moving on to the Main Market Square.
There they took over watch next to the Town Hall Tower without shedding a drop of blood.
Therefore today is so important for us Cracovians !
Let’s celebrate togehter in Podgórze!
