Jan Matejko (1848- 1893) was a painter who was born, lived , worked and died in Kraków and who is considered to be the finest representative of historicism in Polish painting.
At Retoryka Street (No. 1) there is a house called “ Under the Singing Frog “, which was built in 1889–90, according to a design by Teodor Talowski, one of the most brilliant Polish architects.
The exhibition is a perfect opportunity to remind ourselves and others about the creative output of this eminent artist.
The Old Jewish Cemetery is located next to the Remuh Synagogue and is a very unique place not only for Jews but for each visitor who decides to enter this place.
